Seventies spirit, salvaging and sustainability

Big, a beauty store in East London, wanted to create a space reflective of their business values – a commitment to reducing waste and investment is sustainable design.

The methods that we had to adopt in order to follow the client’s brief made for a really interesting and challenging build. As much material as possible was salvaged and re-used and every single product was logged. All refuse was also counted and logged as well as the usual meticulous care taken on it’s treatment. The paints, adhesives and materials that were chosen had to be natural, with as small an environmental impact as possible.
