Once home to a banana merchant

The Borough store of ethical Australian cosmetic brand, Aesop had its unique 18th century character restored. The waxed raw steel complements the warm timber and newly exposed and restored ceiling joists and the green colour palette mirrors the distinct colour found in the market.

In keeping with Aesop’s ethos of preservation and waste minimisation we repurposed furniture from a previous store in Germany to fit into its new home, the flooring and panelling is reclaimed

timber.  

As well as the above works and a full strip out, we fitted modern ventilation and AC that was hidden in the basement and delivered through the floor, fire and sound proofing to a modern standard and decorating throughout.
