The start of 2025 saw the completion of “The Restaurant” at Hambledon Vineyard; part of the visitors centre which is set in large Green Oak barns.
Bespoke furniture and moveable retail units sit alongside gorgeous soft wood interiors, with huge windows framing the vineyard views. A new culinary garden runs along the pedestrian path and newly landscaped customer parking.
Perhaps the most eye catching aspect of the build is the floor to ceiling English Cedar and Oak which makes up the structural frame and internal cladding. Not only is this striking feature beautiful, but the team worked hard to source and procure only English timber.
Working through the many challenges of taking on a space that has been left mid construction and empty for years, EC1 worked closely with the client and Architects to bring the space up to the safety standards and functionality required while producing a striking, warm and natural space with oodles of natural light.
“It has been a pleasure to work with EC1, nothing is ever an issue and work conjunction with our onsite team to ensure no day to day operation or guests were affected. Always happy to fix a problem and talk through the best alternatives if needed.”
