Stunning grade I listed building

Studio Ashby, a high end residential interior design firm wanted to create a showroom and studio space that feels like a home.

Blewcoat School, an incredible Grade I listed building was originally constructed in 1709 as a school for the underprivileged, when the school moved to a new home in the fifties, it was bought by the National Trust. Studio Ashby are the second occupants since then.

As an interior design firm, Studio Ashby designed and managed the build and we were responsible for a full decoration and works on the heating and electrics, new toilets, kitchen and meeting spaces, all works had to be agreed with the National Trust and as a Grade 1 listed building the walls and openings could not be changed.
