We delivered the rooftop wellbeing garden at Halcyon London International School in Marylebone, transforming a previously underused listed terrace into a biodiverse outdoor learning and gathering space.
Completed within a tight programme, the project was delivered within the sensitive heritage context of the Portman Estate Conservation Area. The works included lightweight landscape elements, biodiverse planting, integrated seating, a perforated metal boundary fence, and an amphitheatre designed for outdoor lessons, yoga, performances and informal assemblies.
Working within strict structural and listed-building constraints, we implemented a largely non-permanent design solution that protected the historic fabric while creating a calm, flexible environment for daily use by students and staff.
The finished rooftop garden provides Halcyon School with valuable additional outdoor space in central London, supporting wellbeing, learning and connection with nature.
